A traditional Indian cooking oven is an "Angithi" which has been used since time immemorial. It is made out of a metal bucket with an inner layer of mud. Paper, dried twigs are fed through the opening at the bottom to start fire and light the charcoal placed on the grill inside the Angithi. Before the advent of modern day cooking gadgets, an Angithi was part of every home in India. It is still one of the most popular cooking methods in rural India. It is very similar to the charcoal barbecue.
